How to Set up a Free Snowflake Account

Please set up a Snowflake account for free using their 30-day free trial.

01. Log into Snowflake

Go to the below website.

Start for free by clicking the blue button.

Click on the Start for Free button.

Start your free 30-day trial by signing up.

02. Select Standard AWS Account

Select AWS as the Cloud Provider.

Select Asia Pacific (Singapore) when you select region.

03. Home Screen

Now, that you are signed in, you will be able to see the home screen. Go to the Data Tab > Databases.

04. Create New Database

Select Create New Database.

Create a New Database.

You will see test_db in your Snowflake account.

05. Make Schema for Snowflake

Select add schema for test_db

Create SCHEMA_FOR_EXTERNAL_FILE as the schema and click the create button.

Now that you have downloaded the iris.parquet file and created a new information schema, refresh Snowflake and you should see the below screen.

Now, click the Create button to create a new table for your schema.

06. Add parquet File

Select Create Information Schema from the file.

Select or drop your viewership_data.parquet file. Create a new table viewership_table and select next.

Now, you will see the below screen.

Now, hit the load button.

Select the Query Data now.

07. Query Data

You can query the data now, by hitting the blue play button on the top right.

And, if you go back to Snowflake, you will be able to see the VIEWERSHIP_TABLE in your schema.

Done! You were successfully able to view data on Snowflake.
